Summer 2 Week 5 Topic

Welcome ?

Monday – Computing and PE

Please ensure you have done some physical activity today :).

If you want to take inspiration from the Year 4 and 5 children that are working in school with Mr Englefield and Miss Lillington, try out the Just Dance videos the children have been doing every day in school.  Try these out, do one with a friend (socially distanced of course), film one and send it in if you dare (won’t go on the website)!

Hips Don’t Lie – our favourite

Drogostea Din Tei – the aeroplane one

Timber – cowgirl and panda one

Rain On Me – Mr E favourite

Just Got Paid – Miss Lillington favourite

Computing –

Very excited about this lesson as it’s all about animation coding.  Follow the link as with the previous lessons and impress me with your creations.  I would REALLY like to see some of these sent into school, that would be fantastic to see. If you are not sure what it should look like, look at the picture underneath…

Tuesday – Art – Viking Runes

Have a look at this video on Viking Runes. Your task is to write your name, or possibly a message, in Viking runes. Try to present it the best that you can.

There is also an Anglo-Saxon Runes sheet at the bottom of the page if you find those easier.

Wednesday – Topic –Final research project

We would like you to take any subject that interests you about the Vikings, research it and present your findings. You can do a poster, a powerpoint, a poem or anything else you like (and it doesn’t have to begin with ‘p’!).

Some subjects that might interest if you’re not sure where to start:

  • Valhalla
  • The Ice Bridge
  • Viking Battle Tactics
  • Viking fashion
  • Valkyries
  • Famous Vikings

Thursday – French + Science

French Lesson (Recap)

French Prepositions (This week)

Science – The one piece of the y5 curriculum we haven’t covered is around elastic energy and catapults. Have a look at this video for the science part.

Extension: If you really want, and WITH PARENTAL PERMISSION!!, see if you can create your own catapult (we would have been doing this in school).

Friday –  R.E.

R.E. this week is our fourth lesson in Judaism.  This week focuses on the Jewish Holy day – Shabbat.  Read the PowerPoint (below) and then fill in the sheet after.
