2J visit to Leeds Industrial Museum

Year 2 had a brilliant trip to Leeds Industrial Museum at Armley Mill to learn about life in the Victorian era. In the morning, we experienced life as a Victorian mill worker. We learnt about the different jobs and machines that they used and went to a mill workers cottage to see what their house might have been like. We were very surprised to learn how hard simple tasks like washing clothes and cooking meals were back then! In the afternoon we pretended to be Victorian school children. We had a very strict teacher and learnt about lots of punishments but we also got to try writing on a slate and using a dip pen and ink! We even had to do drill to keep our minds and bodies healthy.
