How hard is the Year 3 work going to be?

The expectations do get higher as you move into Year 3 but we will be teaching you all the skills you’ll need to do your work so don’t worry 🙂

I’ve heard that in Year 3 we play chess. I’d like to know how often we play it please.

Usually we play chess every Monday morning for an hour and we have a specialist chess teacher who comes in to teach us. Although this won’t be happening in September until it is safe to do so.

Which subject do we do the most of in Year 3?

In Year 3 we have English and maths lessons everyday. We have PE lessons twice a week and other subjects such as RE, music, science and topic once a week. Art, computing, French and PSHE are once every two weeks.

Yes, you can choose your own books to read in Year 3. We are lucky being so close to the library, so we have lots to choose from!

You can earn up to 25 minutes of green time if you stay on green all week 🙂
