Summer PE challenges
Holy Trinity Summer PE Challenges
Remember, It’s really important to stay active, fit and healthy so here are some challenges for you to have a go at over the summer. Give them a try at home, keep practising and see if you can improve over the course of the summer. Parents and guardians, feel free to give them a go as well! Miss Johnson and Mr Wilkinson would love to hear what you’ve been up to and see any pictures.
Miss Johnson’s Running challenge
How long can you run for? Set your baseline time by timing how long you can run for without stopping. Then have another go the following day or later in the week to see if you can improve your time. The more you do it, the fitter you will be! Remember though, our muscles and body need rest and time to recover too!
Mr W’s HIIT workout
Have a go at out Mr W’s HIIT workout. Set a timer for 15 minutes and repeat each move 15 times (reps) and complete the workout 4 times (sets). Keep practising and see if you can do more rounds as you get fitter.
- Lunges
- Star Jumps
- Squats
- Mountain Climbers
Squat you got?
How long can you hold a squat against a wall for?
Remember to –
- keep your back straight and pressed up against the wall
- knees at a 90 degrees
- ensure your knee does not go over your ankle
- keep your head up
Learn a new skill
While there are some things you will be really good at there might be others you find trickier. For example, Mr W finds skipping really tricky! Choose something you find tricky and keep practising the skill until you become more confident. Remember to let us know how you get on.
